About the Job

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a skilled instructor to join the Defence Movements Training Squadron (DMTS) based at RAF Brize Norton. As a Movement Controller Instructor, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality training to military personnel, civil servants, and contractors.

Job Summary

The Defence Movements Training Squadron delivers training to all Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force service personnel in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding, and Personnel Administration. The college is made up of three schools: Defence School of Logistics and Administration (DSLA), Defence School of Policing and Security (DSPS), and Defence School of Transport (DST). The college headquarters is based at Worthy Down, a newly built, modern campus in Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare lesson plans using a wide range of learning technologies.
  • Deliver instructional training to students.
  • Manage day-to-day course administration and allocation to the invigilation programme.
  • Set mentoring programmes, mentor new trainers, and conduct line management responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Provide initial counselling, coaching, mentoring, and duty of care to students, ensuring good conduct and discipline levels are maintained.
  • Supervise students and arrange remedial/extra tuition as required.
  • Identify errors in training material and undertake remedial action.
Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a flair for delivering training and a passion for working in a front-facing military training establishment. You will be empowered to deliver first-class specialist training to up to 1500 trainees per training year using a full suite of residential and virtual technologies.
