Job Summary

The Defence College of Support (DCSp) is a leading provider of training to the UK Armed Forces, delivering courses in Supply, Distribution, Driving, Catering, Policing & Guarding, and Personnel Administration. As a Movements Controller Instructor, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality training to military personnel, civil servants, and contractors.

The Defence Movements Training Squadron (DMTS) is based at RAF Brize Norton, and we are seeking instructors to deliver Movements Controller training and Government Authorised Explosives Representative & Authorised Representative (Road) training. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, delivering training to up to 1500 trainees per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans, incorporating a range of learning technologies.
  • Deliver instructional training to military personnel, civil servants, and contractors.
  • Manage day-to-day course administration, including allocation to the invigilation programme.
  • Set mentoring programmes, mentor new trainers, and conduct line management responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Provide initial counselling, coaching, mentoring, and duty of care to students, ensuring good conduct and discipline levels are maintained.
  • Supervise students and arrange remedial/extra tuition as required.
  • Identify errors in training material and undertake remedial action.

Person Specification

We are seeking applicants who are forward-thinking, enthusiastic, and able to work proactively to achieve outcomes. You will need to be an effective communicator and confident in delivering working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Due to the variety of ranks and backgrounds, you will need to be adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
