About the Role:

Energi People is seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team in London. This exciting opportunity will see you working on maintaining and servicing data centre facilities, ensuring smooth operations and supporting the infrastructure that underpins our client's technological requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide residential engineering support across multiple data centre sites.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on critical systems such as electrical, cooling, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Manage and ensure the operation of power and environmental systems (HVAC, UPS, generators).
  • Monitor and assess the performance of data centre infrastructure
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of services.
  • Respond quickly to incidents or service interruptions, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and infrastructure as required.
  • Provide on-call support if required, to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working as a residential or site engineer, preferably in data centres or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems (e.g., HVAC, UPS, backup generators).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience with data centre infrastructure management systems (DCIM) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures in data centre environments.
  • Availability to start immediately.
