Job Summary

We're looking for a highly experienced Gas Turbine Combustion Engineer to provide expertise in gas turbine combustion to our existing operational assets and support the development of our low-carbon projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gas turbine combustion, including design and operation, health monitoring, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise in gas turbine combustion to existing operational assets and support the development of Uniper's low-carbon projects.
  • Take a role in customer relationship and business development opportunities, focusing on the Uniper generation fleet and hydrogen team.
  • Work closely with our other engineering and environmental teams to advise and inform on the development of low-carbon projects.
  • Collaborate with Uniper's UK and European assets and project teams, sometimes at short notice.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant science or engineering subject.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Experience with dry low emissions gas turbine combustion equipment, including an understanding of design intent, technical specifications, performance, and emissions.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of technical projects to cost, quality, and time, engaging closely with customers.
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly as a member of a team and across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • An effective communicator at all levels.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
  • Commercially aware; understanding the environment in which they operate, including wider business capabilities and requirements, and ability to recognise and take advantage of business opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK or internationally for short durations to visit customer sites or industry conferences.
