Head of Election Operations

As the Head of Election Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections. This will involve managing budgets, leading staff, and developing arrangements to achieve compliance with the Electoral Commission performance standards.

The role requires an excellent understanding of election management, with experience in managing large programmes and projects in a public sector organisation. You will need to be able to adapt your style to work effectively with partners, building consensus, trust, and respect.

Key responsibilities will include developing a project plan and detailed workstream programme, monitoring strategies, and overseeing the delivery of work arising from this. You will also be responsible for maintaining an awareness of legislative and policy changes relating to elections.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in managing large programmes and projects in a public sector organisation
  • Excellent understanding of election management
  • Ability to adapt style to work effectively with partners
  • Ability to build consensus, trust, and respect
  • Ability to develop and maintain arrangements to achieve compliance with the Electoral Commission performance standards

Working Arrangements:

The role is based at the London Fire Brigade's Head Office and will involve split working between home and the office.
