Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team at Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. As a key member of our Mental Health Liaison Team, you will provide specialist medical/psychiatric assessment, treatment, and care for individuals presenting to the Emergency department.

The successful candidate will work closely with our existing consultant, providing cover for Dementia patients and collaborating with the Crisis Response and Home Treatment team to ensure safe discharge and follow-up support. You will also provide ad-hoc assessments and supervision to patients presenting at the Urgent Treatment Centre in Crawley Hospital.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist medical/psychiatric assessment, treatment, and care for individuals presenting to the Emergency department.
  • Collaborate with the Crisis Response and Home Treatment team to ensure safe discharge and follow-up support.
  • Provide ad-hoc assessments and supervision to patients presenting at the Urgent Treatment Centre in Crawley Hospital.
  • Contribute to the development of local Mental Health Services and improve the standards of mental health care offered by Sussex Partnership NHS Trust.

Requirements:

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Dual training in General Adult and Older Persons Mental Health.

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum, pro rata for part-time working.
