Job Title: Chief Technical Officer

Location: Cambridge

Term: Permanent

Salary: £90,000 to £120,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is seeking a visionary Chief Technical Officer to lead the technical function of a well-established manufacturing company with around 100 staff. As a senior leadership role, this position is responsible for driving innovation, overseeing engineering projects, and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of its industry.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Extensive experience in technical leadership roles within the manufacturing sector
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong technical expertise in design, production, and process improvement
  • Proven track record of managing technical teams and large-scale projects
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the technical department, including design, production, and R&D teams
  • Develop and implement technical strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Oversee the delivery of technical projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements
  • Drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the business
  • Collaborate with other departments, including operations and sales, to achieve company goals
  • Manage resources, budgets, and team development to ensure optimal performance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge
  • Represent the company in client and stakeholder meetings, providing technical expertise
