We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Board of Trustees as Chair. As Chief Governance Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure effective governance of the charity.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience chairing a Board of Trustees or directors within a voluntary sector organisation. You should possess strong leadership skills and experience operating at a senior strategic level.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the charity's future direction, promoting its values, and championing its mission. This is an exciting opportunity to join a charity at a time of growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Board and ensure effective governance.
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity, developing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Chair Board meetings, ensuring they are effective and focused on delivering the charity's objectives.
  • Support and appraise the Chief Executive, developing a strong and collaborative relationship.
  • Lead the Board in regularly reviewing the charity's risks, opportunities, and financial health.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a successful track record of achievement in their career. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration.

This is a voluntary role requiring approximately one day per month. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel for meetings and events.

Salary and Benefits
