Job Title: Site Engineer Handyperson

Reporting to: ABM Lead Engineer & Contract Manager

Location: Marlow, Buckinghamshire

Contract: Full-time permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive

Role Overview and Purpose

To provide planned maintenance, minor in-house upgrades, and reactive support to site for M&E and fabric services. This role involves sub-contractor management, working on a multi-building site with various structures, and collaborating with the client and their representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, colleagues, contractors, and ABM teams.
  2. Perform weekly/monthly PPM on water hygiene testing, emergency lighting, fabric PPM, and logging. Communicate failures to ABM manager and administrator.
  3. Carry out minor fabric works, including painting, tiling, basic carpentry, roof leaks, lock replacements, and basic fabric tasks.
  4. Investigate and rectify drainage issues.
  5. Update the ABM CAFM System and manual logbooks.
  6. Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
  7. Maintain site stock levels.
  8. Escort sub-contractors on site and follow up on remedial issues.
  9. Comply with ABM quality, environmental, and Health and Safety policies.
  10. Display a proactive and can-do attitude in dealing with site maintenance and operations.

Required Skills and Experience

  1. Previous experience in FM, carrying out PPM and reactive tasks.
  2. Honest and trustworthy with great communication skills.
  3. IT literate on Microsoft applications.
  4. Ability to work at height, with training provided.
  5. Committed to achieving high standards of workmanship and taking pride in work.
  6. Ability to carry out multi-skilled PPM and repair tasks.
  7. Flexible working hours or overtime to ensure works are completed out of hours.
  8. Safe working practices, adhering to ABM H&S policies.
  9. Eligible to work in the UK.
  10. L8 water hygiene qualified, with training provided.
  11. IPAF/PASMA qualified, with training provided.
  12. IOSH H&S qualified or similar, with training provided.
  13. C&G or equivalent in trade-related skills.
  14. Ability to review suppliers' RAMS, with training provided.
  15. Previous experience of fire door inspections beneficial.
  16. Positive and proactive approach to the working day.
  17. Ability to prioritize workload in an ever-changing environment.
  18. Good level of personal fitness.
  19. Understanding of obtaining best value through ABM suppliers.
  20. Environmental awareness, with specific training provided.
