Job Title: Site Engineer Handyperson

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer Handyperson to join our team at ABM UK. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for providing planned maintenance, minor upgrades, and reactive support to our clients across various sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance tasks, including water hygiene testing, emergency lighting testing, and fabric PPM, logging, and recording in site logbooks.
  • Manage jobs through to completion, communicating failures to the ABM manager and administrator.
  • Perform minor fabric works, including painting, tiling, basic carpentry, roof leaks, lock replacements, and basic fabric tasks.
  • Investigate and rectify drainage issues, updating the ABM CAFM System and manual logbooks.
  • Conduct minor electrical and plumbing repairs, such as lamp replacement, tap changes, and toilet repairs.
  • Maintain site stock levels and escort sub-contractors on site, following up on remedial issues with the ABM lead engineer/contract manager and administrator.
  • Comply with all ABM quality, environmental, and Health and Safety policies and processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within FM in an occupied premises, carrying out PPM and reactive tasks.
  • Honest and trustworthy with great communication skills.
  • IT literate on Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to work at height, with training provided.
  • Committed and dedicated to achieving high standards of workmanship and taking pride in your work.
  • Ability to carry out multi-skilled PPM and repair tasks.
  • Flexible with working hours or overtime to ensure works are completed out of hours when required.
  • Safe working practices, adhering to all ABM H&S policies and procedures.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • L8 water hygiene qualified, with training provided.
  • IPAF/PASMA qualified, with training provided.
  • IOSH H&S qualified or similar, with training provided.
  • C&G or equivalent in trade-related skills.
  • Ability to review suppliers' RAMS, with training provided.
  • Previous experience of fire door inspections beneficial.
