Exciting Infrastructure Opportunity
Location: Aylesbury
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Section Engineer to join our Infrastructure team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering control and quality of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the site engineering team in setting out, engineering control, and quality assurance
- Coordinate and mentor junior engineers to ensure project success
- Participate in creating a safe working environment and implementing risk assessments
- Assist in planning and coordinating projects and resources to meet business objectives
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery
- Develop and implement effective quality control processes
- Manage the site engineering team, delegate tasks, and provide training and mentorship
- Ensure all works are carried out according to specifications and drawings
- Collaborate with the commercial team for accurate financial reporting
- Identify and introduce new processes and techniques to improve project efficiency
Requirements:
- Proven experience in civil engineering with a strong understanding of project management principles
- Excellent leadership and delegation skills with the ability to motivate and train junior engineers
- Relevant certifications, such as NVQ Level or higher, SMSTS, and CSCS card
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Office expertise with proficiency in relevant software and systems
