About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Section Engineer - Infrastructure to join our team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our infrastructure business, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and contributing to our company's continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in creating a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Assist the Site Manager in planning and coordinating projects and resources.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments and method statements.
  • Write, review, and implement inspection test plans.
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with project specifications and drawings.
  • Manage the site engineering team, delegate tasks, train, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Control and update project programs, attend coordination meetings, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all company property is properly maintained and stored.

About You:

  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Advanced setting out techniques and experience with Level and EDM.
  • Relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in highways, rail, water, or aviation.
  • Proven leadership and delegation skills.
  • Flexible attitude to work and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • NVQ Level or higher and relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS).
