About the Role

The Traffic Dispatcher will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of our depot operations. This includes allocating and routing vehicles to ensure exceptional service delivery to our customers, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring environmental and O-licence compliance. The successful candidate will also support employee engagement, continuous improvement in productivity, and quality of service provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize route efficiency and utilize the most effective disposal outlets to ensure efficient use of vehicles and facilities.
  • Manage driver availability and coverage in line with legislation and company procedures to ensure suitable coverage at all times.
  • Perform administrative duties, including inputting pay and bonus information onto our systems, and accurately recording disposal data.
  • Proactively manage vehicles, including liaison with our fleet team, ensuring safe vehicle operations, wheel security, and monitoring vehicle gross weights.
  • Supervise vehicle availability on a daily basis, ensuring drivers have completed their checks in accordance with company policy.
  • Contribute to ongoing cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs by analyzing depot reports.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks associated with the Dispatch office are completed, including time sheets, tachograph records, payroll records, holiday rotas, and resolving QLS issues.
  • In conjunction with the Depot Manager, ensure mandatory training, induction, and toolbox talks are delivered in line with company policy.
