Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our Home Therapies team as a Dialysis Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with experienced renal staff to provide safe and effective care for our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Attend patients' homes to prepare and connect their peritoneal dialysis machines
  • Train and educate patients on how to perform their own treatment and prevent infection
  • Support patients with haemodialysis training and provide basic observations
  • Order and manage dialysis stock, including disposing of used stock and maintaining stock control
  • Work as a lone worker and as part of a team, prioritizing patient care and using your own initiative
Requirements
  • Significant experience of working in a care setting as a paid carer
  • Phlebotomy skills and ability to undertake basic observations
  • Haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis training, with a willingness to complete competency-based assessments and a portfolio of evidence
  • Ability to work shift patterns, including early and late shifts, and to prioritize patient care
  • Basic keyboard skills and ability to use email systems
