Job Description

Job Title: Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments and therapy to patients, as well as leading on research projects and contributing to the development of clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialist psychological assessments and therapy to patients
  2. Lead on research projects and contribute to the development of clinical services
  3. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other disciplines within the service areas
  4. Use research skills for audit, policy and service development
  5. Propose and implement policy changes within the specialist area served
  6. Line manage Early Career and Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologists
  7. Work autonomously in the delivery of duties within professional guidelines

Requirements:

  1. Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology and research design
  2. Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
  3. Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  4. Knowledge and understanding of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust values and behaviours
  5. Knowledge and understanding of the structure of the Clinical and Health Psychology Department
