About the Role

The Rating Associate role is integral to Moody's focus on ratings accuracy, research, and market outreach. This position requires a strong understanding of credit risk and financial analysis to support the assignment and monitoring of credit ratings.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with lead analysts to perform day-to-day credit analysis related to ratings, research, and investor outreach
  • Reviewing financial spreadsheets, analyzing data, and writing analytical commentary in accordance with Moody's methodologies
  • Developing a working knowledge of credit fundamentals through a review of components such as transaction documentation, cash flow analysis, or loss allocation rules
  • Collaborating with lead analysts in preparing the first draft of rating committee memos
  • Monitoring credit quality and issuer and/or industry trends by following market developments and relevant news events

Requirements

Requirements include:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification with strong academic performance
  • Relevant experience in Insurance (including internships) with a strong understanding of the industry and its key drivers
  • Accounting knowledge with a focus on financial analysis is preferred
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development (e.g. CFA, ACCA, FRM)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with familiarity with relevant programming languages (e.g. Python/SQL)
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Organised and efficient with strong attention to details and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills (French, German, Spanish) would be beneficial.
