Job Description:

As a Speech and Language Therapist at Doucecroft School, you will be responsible for supporting pupils' communication ability and participating in the continuing development of these services. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established charity that provides ongoing specialist training and professional development.

The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, theoretical knowledge and practical experience of working with people who have severe learning disabilities and/or autism, and a confident, caring, and proactive attitude.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, 1-year fixed term role, providing cover for a Maternity Leave. The post holder will be responsible for assessing new pupils and reviewing existing pupils' communication needs, developing communication targets, delivering individual and group therapy, attending Multi-disciplinary team meetings, and supervising less experienced staff.

Requirements:
  • A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of working with people who have severe learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Supervision experience (highly advantageous)
  • A confident, caring, and proactive attitude
