Job Title: Consultant Cardiologist with Specialist Interest in Imaging

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in imaging to join our dynamic team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive cardiac care to patients at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan, and Leigh Infirmary, Leigh. The role will involve maintaining high standards, bringing fresh ideas, and developing the coronary interventional programme in the Northwest Sector Catheter Lab, based at Wigan, in partnership with other Catheter Labs in Greater Manchester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing comprehensive cardiac care to patients at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan, and Leigh Infirmary, Leigh
  • Maintaining high standards and developing the coronary interventional programme in the Northwest Sector Catheter Lab, based at Wigan
  • Working in partnership with other Catheter Labs in Greater Manchester
  • Developing and implementing new ideas to improve cardiac care services
Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Entry on the Specialist Register for Cardiology or within 6 months of CCST
  • MRCP (or equivalent)
  • MD
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • CCT in Cardiology
  • Extensive experience in Interventional Cardiology with experience in Primary PCI
  • Recent comprehensive skill in ALS
  • ALS instructor
