About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Deputy Children's Home Manager within the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking (UAS) Children's Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring that our home meets the standards set by the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted.
  • Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for vulnerable young people seeking asylum.
  • Oversee daily operations within the home, ensuring staff follow safeguarding procedures and service protocols.
  • Lead a team of Residential Support Workers, holding regular handover meetings and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping on Liberi for every child, and quality assure records produced by the team.
  • Coordinate activities for children that are both meaningful and educational.
  • Promote equality and ensure anti-discriminatory behaviour within the home, encouraging children to express their wishes and feelings.
  • Provide regular supervision and professional development for staff members.
Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development.
  • Experience in working with children or young people in a residential setting.
  • Experience leading a small staff team and working with Ofsted regulations.
  • Excellent IT skills and experience using relevant software, such as Liberi.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and ask for support when needed.
  • A commitment to equalities and diversity in the workplace.
