About the Role

The Estate Manager will play a pivotal role in the proactive and effective management of Sainsbury's extensive property portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to utilise strong estates management experience, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for optimising the property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage leases and associated lease transactions to ensure optimal property utilisation.
  • Manage external consultants to provide expert advice on property matters.
  • Minimise property costs through effective budgeting and cost control.
  • Formulate recommendations on Landlord and Tenant matters to ensure commercial settlements.
  • Build relationships with landlords and tenants to maintain a positive and collaborative environment.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Store Managers and Regional Operation Managers, to ensure seamless communication and project implementation.
  • Oversee the implementation of internal projects impacting the Sainsbury's estate, ensuring minimal disruption to trade.
  • Stay updated with market trends and maintain accurate databases and trackers to inform property decisions.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a highly knowledgeable and experienced professional with a strong background in property management. Relevant property experience and membership in RICS are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of lease events, landlord and tenant matters, and property market trends.
