We are seeking an experienced Director of Project Strategy to lead our project portfolio and drive business growth.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned project professional to join our team and make a significant impact on our business. As the Director of Project Strategy, you will be responsible for leading and owning the company-wide project and programme portfolio, ensuring that all projects meet minimum governance and control standards and are aligned with business needs.

You will support processes from a Project Management leadership perspective, providing a single, company-wide validation and control point for all projects. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities to build relationships across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owning the single view of the portfolio of projects across the company (Portfolio register and plan)
  • Managing and building relationships across all related departments to ensure adherence to and knowledge of the programme portfolio plan
  • Developing and owning the Strategic Prioritisation Process, gaining support and sign-off from all relevant areas of the business
  • Undertaking 'scenario' and 'what-if' analysis of the various delivery options within the portfolio
  • Leading on the preparation of the Portfolio Delivery Plan by collaborating closely with senior stakeholders and individual programmes/projects
  • Owning and developing an integrated annual/18-month rolling portfolio delivery plan which includes key milestones
  • Providing progress reporting for the company at Executive level
  • Ensuring effective change control are applied to manage all milestones
  • Defining responsibilities and allocating tasks for the project team
  • Developing project proposals and statements of work to include project scope, budget, and justification
  • Escalating business-critical risks and issues to appropriate leadership in a timely and solutions-oriented way
  • Coaching and guiding Heads of functions in project delivery and project management methods
