About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Division of Medicine, you will provide clinical leadership and direction for the multi-professional team in the management of acute medical patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead ward rounds and direct the management of patients on our Acute Medical Unit and Same Day Emergency Care Unit.
  • Perform practical procedures, teach junior medical and other staff, and attend multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Participate in governance activities, manage and administer the service, and liaise with other professionals within and outside the Trust.

  • A competitive salary of £105,504 to £139,882 per annum, plus a Recruitment and Retention Premium of up to £20,000.

Requirements
  • Full and specialist registration in either Acute Internal Medicine (AIM) or General Internal Medicine (GIM) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Higher academic qualification, such as an MD or PhD.
  • Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in acute medicine.
