We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ultrasound department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, effective patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and report on a variety of ultrasound examinations on a rotational basis, including obstetrics, gynaecology, and general medical ultrasound.
- Provide a high-quality, efficient, and effective ultrasound service, comprising unsupervised scanning sessions to the people of East Suffolk and North Essex.
- Work as an independent practitioner within your scope of practice, performing scans to a high diagnostic standard, prioritizing workload, formulating comprehensive and accurate reports, and communicating results via agreed methods to clinicians/patients.
- Contribute to the training and supervision of all staff and students within the Ultrasound Unit.
- Safely use all ultrasound equipment, resolving first-line problems, recording accurate details of equipment faults, reporting faults, and liaising with and supervising engineers.

Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications:
- DCR (R), Degree or BSc in Radiography, Midwifery, Nursing, Science, Health Science, or equivalent.
- CASE Accredited post-graduate qualification in ultrasound, a Pg Certificate or Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (DMU), or equivalent.
- Current HCPC/NMC registration.
- Evidence of completed and planned Continuing Professional Development.
Essential Experience:
- Full range of ultrasound experience, to include obstetrics & gynaecology, general medical, and small parts ultrasound.
- Experience of teaching and assessing student sonographers.
- Recent NHS experience.
- Working with the public/ill people.
- Administration.
- Willingness to undertake training and practice in new areas of ultrasound.
- Abides by professional code of conduct/scheme of work.
- Independently reporting all ultrasound examinations undertaken.
