About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapy Support Specialist to join our team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide support to physiotherapists in delivering therapy to patients with complex needs, working independently to manage a designated caseload of patients defined as non-complex within a specified clinical area.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment, working alongside experienced therapists who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver therapy to a complex caseload on the ward, working independently to manage a designated caseload of patients defined as non-complex within a specified clinical area.

Provide assessment and interventions on behalf of the physiotherapist within predetermined guidelines, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver and fit assistive equipment in patients' homes as directed by the physiotherapist.

Requirements

A sound general education, with technical qualifications such as NVQ Level III Health related or equivalent technical/work experience.

Previous experience of working with patients, preferably in a hospital setting, with a broad range of life experiences and an appreciation of the principles of rehabilitation.

An understanding of moving and handling principles, with good communication and interpersonal skills, including effective written and oral communication skills.

What We Offer

This role offers a competitive salary, estimated at £28,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including a pension scheme, generous annual leave, and opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
