The Moubayidin Group is a research team at the John Innes Centre, focused on uncovering the mechanisms that control the development and shape of the apical end of the female reproductive organ.


The Role


We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to the smooth running of the lab and to the group's overarching aim of investigating the molecular and genetic mechanisms controlling symmetry establishment during style development.


Key responsibilities include planning and conducting a wide range of lab techniques, including genetics, biochemical, and molecular experiments, as well as leading own research project using crops and Arabidopsis.


The post holder will also train and supervise students at different levels and contribute research outputs to the work led by students and post-docs.


Requirements


The successful candidate will have a BSc or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related discipline and advanced knowledge and proficiency in crops genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology methods.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and experience in protein biochemistry techniques is advantageous.
