Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work as part of the Central Lancashire Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) and Memory Assessment Services (MAS) team, providing clinical leadership and expertise to support the delivery of high-quality mental health services to older adults.

Main Responsibilities

The Consultant Psychiatrist will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership to the RITT and MAS teams, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver effective care to patients.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans, working collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of care plans, and ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Providing education and training to junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional development within the team.
  • Engaging with patients, families, and carers to promote patient-centered care, ensuring that their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
About the Role

This is a substantive, full-time (10PA) post based at Charnley Fold, Bamber Bridge, Preston. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, with access to a range of resources and opportunities for professional development.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

  • Hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist Register of the GMC or be eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
  • Have Section 12 Approved status or be eligible to have Approved Clinician Status.
  • Have knowledge, skills, and experience appropriate to this role, including experience of working with older adults and a strong understanding of mental health services.
