Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Gateshead

Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to work at a SEND school in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have ASD and be able to communicate effectively. The school caters for students aged 2-19 years and provides a nurturing, educational, and therapeutic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in lessons and activities
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Develop positive relationships with students and staff
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
  • A good knowledge of EHCPs
  • Ability to work as part of a team
