About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DA Causation Claims Handler to join our dynamic and collaborative division at Keoghs. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in handling a caseload of litigated RTA Causation files under Delegated Authority on behalf of our insurance clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Excellence
    • Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of evidence throughout the life of the case
    • Develop and implement case strategies, ensuring adherence to any Key Operating (KYO) or generic strategies
    • Manage case progress, adhering to all work type process stages
    • Identify strategic litigation opportunities and complex cases when appropriate
    • Monitor client trends and opportunities to raise profile with clients
  • Client Excellence
    • Manage files in accordance with agreed client guidelines
    • Ensure maximum client satisfaction on each case
    • Accurately and timely complete all client and internal Management Information (MI)
    • Achieve both client and internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Technical Excellence
    • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to conduct investigations and implement case strategies
    • Comply with procedural and investigative deadlines
    • Secure the best possible results in litigation, protecting the client's position and ensuring full compliance with the court timetable
    • Undertake advocacy where required and cost-effective to do so
    • Proactively manage case investigations and strategies from receipt to resolution
    • Delegate tasks as appropriate to assistants to progress the case
    • Maintain accurate and timely records in Case Management Systems
    • Adhere to file management policies and comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards & Regulations

    Requirements
    • Experience of handling RTA pre-litigated and/or litigated case loads
    • Understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes, including indemnity principles
    • Knowledge of the litigation process and working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), relevant Personal Injury Protocols, and working platforms/portals
    • Excellent client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines
    • High level of analytical skills
    • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
    • Ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions
    • Excellent IT skills
    • Experience of time recording and billing systems is desirable
