Job Title: Plant PLC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plant PLC Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our Plant Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of control systems within our water-based units and plant-based equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
  • Commission new and refurbished equipment, ensuring it meets our quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Manager teams to identify and resolve issues caused by design.
  • Develop and implement improvements to electrical consumption and efficiency, resulting in cost savings.
  • Provide electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly teams.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and participate in training and team meetings.
  • Supervise and direct on-site contractors as needed.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to provide support and training.
Requirements:
  • Experience in industrial electrical works and a proven record of EHS and Quality awareness.
  • Previous experience in industrial areas, assembly, or other operational roles.
  • Knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software, as well as NVQ3 in electrical-based units and City And Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages and experience with drawing software.
  • Experience in the Water treatment industry is an advantage.
