Job Title: Plant PLC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Plant PLC Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. As a key member of our Plant Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of control systems within our clients' water-based units and plant-based equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commissioning or final testing of newly built mobile water assets
  • Ensure adherence to Quality standards at all times
  • PLC modifications and fault finding in the regeneration plant, for sites, and on our control systems for mobile water treatment equipment
  • Fault finding in control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, etc.) through preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Commissioning new and refurbished equipment
  • Liaison with Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Manager in the discovery and elimination of unknown issues caused by design
  • Improvement of electrical consumption and efficiency of the plant to achieve the maximum cost savings
  • Electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Team
  • Maintain electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids, including lighting, direct on-line, instrumentation, pumps/motors, etc.
  • Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records
  • Participate in training and team meetings and suggest possible improvements
  • Supervising and directing on-site contractors when required
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites
Requirements:
  • Experience in industrial electrical works
  • Previously worked in the industrial area, assembly, or other operational roles
  • Proven record of EHS and Quality awareness
  • Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software
  • NVQ3 in electrical based units
  • City And Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent
  • Drawing software training or experience
  • Experience of project management
  • Passport to safety or equivalent
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience in the water treatment industry is an advantage
