Health and Safety Specialist

Company Overview: Our client is a well-established contractor specializing in housing and infrastructure projects in Bristol. They are seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their team and help establish and guide the company's health and safety systems.
- Develop and Implement Systems: Establish, manage, and continually improve the company's SHEQ management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Health and Safety Leadership: Provide expert guidance on all health and safety-related matters, ensuring that the company's health and safety standards are maintained.
- Communication: Effectively communicate SHEQ processes with both office staff and site-based construction workers, ensuring that everyone understands and follows the set guidelines.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments and method statements, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant to ongoing projects.
- Incident Management: Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Training: Deliver or arrange relevant training for employees, ensuring they are competent in health and safety requirements.
- Monitor Compliance: Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained and quality controls are in place.
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Work closely with clients, contractors, and project managers to ensure that SHEQ standards are met across all housing and infrastructure projects.
- Qualified in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar qualification is essential).
- Experience in construction, ideally in housing or housing infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work alongside and guide construction workers and site staff.
- Self-motivated, serious, and passionate about maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
