SEMH Behavioural Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEMH school or pupil referral unit. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with personal care, managing behavioural challenges, and providing targeted support in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with personal care and daily living skills
  • Help manage behavioural challenges and develop strategies to promote positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour management plans
  • Provide targeted support to students in the classroom and during activities
Requirements:
  • A keen interest in working with children and young people
  • Experience working with children and/or in the care/education sector
  • Desirable: experience in a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting
  • Open to training and development opportunities
  • Proactive and patient approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team
