SEMH Behavioural Teaching Assistant Job Description

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant in a SEMH school or pupil referral unit, you will play a vital role in supporting students with personal care, helping to manage their behavioural challenges, and nurturing their growth in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with personal care and daily living skills
  • Help manage behavioural challenges and develop strategies to promote positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour management plans
  • Provide targeted support to students in the classroom and during activities
Requirements:
  • A keen interest in working with children and young people
  • Experience working with children and/or in the care/education sector
  • Desirable experience in a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting
  • Open to training and development opportunities
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
