SEMH Behavioural Teaching Assistant Role

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our education-led team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs in a pupil referral unit or SEMH school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, helping to manage their behavioural challenges and promote positive relationships.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students in the classroom, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Participate in PE sessions, games, and other activities that interest students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Requirements:
  • A keen interest in working with children and a passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Experience working with children and/or in the care/education sector, with a desire to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Open to training and development opportunities, with a proactive work ethic and a patient, understanding attitude.
  • A good understanding of special educational needs and the ability to provide a range of support to pupils.
