As a SEND Personal and Academic Development Coach, you will be part of our dedicated team that supports students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Support: Collaborate with curriculum teams to develop and implement academic support plans for students. This includes providing 1-2-1 and small group tutoring to target students who require additional support.
  • Safeguarding and Wellbeing: Develop and deliver core tutorial content on safeguarding, wellbeing, and mental health. This includes working closely with colleagues to ensure students receive comprehensive support and guidance.
  • Accessing Resources: Identify and provide students with online learning resources to support their academic progress. This may involve working with external partners to source relevant materials.

Requirements
  • Teaching qualification (CertEd, PGCE, DET, AET) or willingness to complete relevant teacher training.
  • Minimum grade 4 (previously GCSE grade C) in maths and English.
  • Understanding of pastoral needs of 16-19 age group.
  • Confidence and personal presence to lead sessions with students.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong collaborator who builds relationships easily with colleagues.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, written and verbal.
  • Good levels of digital literacy.
  • Training or experience in mental health, academic support, and safeguarding.
  • Experience working with young people in a college, school, or university setting.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Educated to a minimum of level 4 (foundation degree).
Working Hours and Location

This is a 0.8 fraction role, requiring 7.4 hours a day, 5 days a week, over 36 working weeks a year. The role will be based across all group sites in Stevenage, Letchworth, and Watford.
