About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious gastro pub in Gloucestershire. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency, and contributing to the development of new menu ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning, preparation, and presentation of menus
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and effective service
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes, in collaboration with the Head Chef
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of classical and modern cooking techniques, and ability to innovate and adapt to new trends
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
  • High standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Ability to work under pressure, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment
