About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consents and Lands Manager to join our team at National Grid. As a key member of our Offshore Delivery Team, you will play a critical role in delivering our fast-tracked multi-billion-pound projects, enabling 50GW of renewable energy to be transmitted across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that project marine or terrestrial consents are delivered economically and efficiently, in accordance with current legislation, regulations, guidance, and that National Grid's reputation continues to be enhanced.
  • Lead and manage a substantive multi-disciplinary consents and EIA team comprising both internal and external resources, including specialists, to deliver marine or terrestrial consents, stakeholder engagement, and EIA-related activities.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of consents and EIA-related activities.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams on consents and EIA-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including external partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience in the delivery of terrestrial or marine consents and EIA-related activities in support of complex multi-site construction projects, to programme, cost, and specification.
  • Capability in effectively leading and managing a substantive multi-disciplinary consents and EIA team comprising both internal and external resources, including specialists.
  • Strong project management skills, specifically in relation to time, cost (forecast and actuals), scope, procurement, and managing consents and Environmental Impact Assessment resources.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills, with experience in presenting complex and contentious information to large and/or challenging external audiences.

What We Offer

A competitive starting salary between £50,000 - £60,000 – dependent on capability, plus additional yearly supplement. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
