An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Scrub Theatre Practitioner (Band 5) to join the CEPOD team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with excellent scrub skills in general surgery theatres, as well as good communication skills to support the team in achieving high standards of patient care within the CEPOD theatres.
Main Duties- Rotating through surgical specialties to gain a wide practical and theoretical knowledge base.
- Developing a career development pathway exploring opportunities for specific clinical development in conjunction with access to leadership pathways.
The CEPOD team manages two CEPOD theatres, Acute surgery, and Plastic surgery Lists. Our main CEPOD theatre is a very fast-paced service which runs 24/7 and covers a wide range of general surgery specialties such as Vascular, Thoracic, HPB, Upper GI, Colorectal, Paediatric, Urology, ENT, and MaxFax.
Key Requirements:
- Practices and promotes the use of evidence-based practice.
- Knowledge of current issues within acute health service.
- Relevant resus qualification, ie Immediate Life Support.
- Experience of working within relevant care setting.
- Specialist theatre work-based learning course, or mentorship course, post-qualification.
Salary: £28,462 - £35,745 per annum.
