Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about safety and assurance. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee all aspects of Safety and Assurance within our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a dedicated team focused on elevating health and safety standards, engineering compliance, and training protocols.
- Formulate, implement, and assess industry-leading policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Serve as the primary authority on health and safety issues, ensuring adherence to legal and best practice standards.
- Monitor compliance with essential health and safety legislation.
- Establish strategic initiatives for health and safety management and employee wellbeing programs.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to foster continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing practices.
- Coordinate the Safety & Assurance Management team to ensure regulatory compliance and documentation.
- Manage effective communication regarding health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) matters.
- Provide guidance to the Senior Leadership Team on HSEQ issues, ensuring alignment with safety principles.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Significant experience in the Gas Distribution sector.
- Familiarity with operational systems and management protocols.
- Proven track record in managing and mentoring operational teams.
- Experience in conducting audits within a structured risk management framework.
- Comprehensive understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Essential Qualifications:
- NEBOSH National Diploma Level 6 or equivalent.
- NRSWA Certification.
- EUSR Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) for Gas.
- CDM Certification.
- IOSH Certification.
- Associate Membership of IEMA.
- Audit-related qualifications.
- SCO Certification.
