Job Summary

Glasgow City Council is seeking a highly experienced and ambitious leader to join our Neighbourhood & Regeneration Services team as the Head of Roads Asset Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the Council's statutory duties as a roads authority, ensuring the maintenance and improvement of the city's road network.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Group Managers of our frontline workforces, responsible for operating and maintaining the Council's road and structural assets.
  • Develop and implement effective service delivery strategies to ensure consistent, high-quality customer-facing services across all service areas.
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of the Council's Capital and Revenue investment projects, with a budget in excess of £30m annually.
  • Form meaningful and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to communicate and influence effectively.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • A current driving licence is essential.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body and/or Chartered Engineer Status is desirable.
