Job Title: Controls Engineer

At Owen Daniels, we are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing control circuits for special purpose machines and ensuring safety in both designs and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design control circuits for special purpose machines
  • Create functions lists for machine control and populate with relevant cross-referencing to control circuits
  • Ensure safety in designs and implementation in-house and on customer sites
  • Provide guidance and advice on a technical level to other departments
  • Liaise with site teams to ensure smooth interaction between site and controls engineers
  • Interface with both in-house subcontract staff and exterior design resources
  • Support other departments within the company, including Sales, Purchasing, HR, Finance, and Factory
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Support the controls requirements for both powertrain and car body technology sides of the business

Requirements:
  • Experience of controls design (supporting and updating)
  • Strong technical knowledge of control systems and special purpose machinery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
