Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to design and develop control circuits for special purpose machines. The ideal candidate will have experience in Siemens S7 / s7 TIA Portal Programming & Commissioning and a good working knowledge of electrical circuit design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control circuits for special purpose machines
  • Create functions lists for machine control and populate with relevant cross-referencing to controls circuits
  • Ensure safety in designs and implementation in-house and on customer sites
  • Provide guidance and advice on a technical level to other departments
  • Liaise with site teams to ensure smooth interaction between site and controls engineers
  • Interface with in-house subcontract staff and exterior design resources
  • Support other departments within the company, including Sales, Purchasing, HR, Finance, and Factory
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Support controls requirements for both powertrain and car body technology sides of the business
Requirements
  • Experience of controls design (supporting and updating existing modifications)
  • Experience of Siemens S7 / s7 TIA Portal Programming & Commissioning
Desirable Qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of electrical circuit design
  • Experience in special purpose design with a knowledge of the latest standards
  • Understanding of AutoCad or E-plan
