Job Title: Graduate Process Safety Engineer

KBR is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Process Safety Engineer to join our team in Leatherhead.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual to work as part of a project team, evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. The successful candidate will engage in consequence modeling using standard software packages, assist in scribing HAZID, HAZOP, and other safety reviews, and contribute to the development of safety specifications to enhance project safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a project team to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Engage in consequence modeling using standard software packages such as PHAST and Flaresim.
  • Assist in scribing HAZID, HAZOP, and other safety reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of safety specifications to enhance project safety standards.
  • Support the design of safety systems, including firewater systems and blast protection measures.
  • Manage actions and follow up on safety-related tasks and recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Skills gained through undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including final year design projects and any relevant work placements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborative projects and safety reviews.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or equivalent in science or engineering, typically in Chemical Engineering.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering, with a preference for Chemical Engineering or Process Safety would be desirable.
