Mechanical Engineer Nights

Salary: £34,000 - £42,000 (Base salary/ Shift Allowances Inc) + Bonus
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 10pm – 6am
Mars Wrigley is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to maintain the optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing routine mechanical problems, conducting preventative maintenance, and supporting Operations in equipment setup and adjustments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and fix mechanical issues within an FMCG environment.
- Perform routine mechanical problem-solving on process & packaging equipment.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM's) on Process & Packaging Equipment with minimal guidance.
- Support Operations in equipment setup and training of operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities.
- Document Work Orders (WO) using SAP-PPM Plant Maintenance logging and complete maintenance activities on a daily basis.
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Theory and Concepts through participation in Pillar Teams, training fellow Technicians/Operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities to include conducting Breakdown Analysis (BDA's).
- Understand and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) Procedures, Confined Space Procedures and all other Plant Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements related to supporting machinery uptime.
- Complete risk assessment / permit to work and formulate method statements to assist in safe undertaking of any activity.
Requirements:
- Possess a fundamental understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment, i.e., sorting systems and palletizing robots.
- Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist and fabrication skill sets.
