Psicon Ltd is seeking a skilled Neurodevelopmental Specialist to join their growing team. This role offers a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will conduct comprehensive developmental histories for children undergoing autism assessments, utilizing preferred methods/tools. They will also conduct ADHD assessments, observe children during sessions, and review ADOS reports in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

This position involves producing high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates. The specialist will also request onward referrals as clinically necessary and participate in free CPD opportunities and training for further neurodevelopmental assessments.

Job Description:

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools to evaluate children undergoing autism assessments.
  • Conduct ADHD assessments.
  • Observe the child/young person during sessions and ensure questions are asked in an age-appropriate and compassionate manner.
  • Review ADOS reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home and school in the same session.
  • Formulate a diagnosis, conclude the assessment, and provide feedback to the family in a kind, age-appropriate, and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local/national resources.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in cases where further information is required, and offer a separate follow-up session to conclude the diagnosis.
  • Produce high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates.
  • Request onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
