Elevation Accountancy and Finance is working with a business in Barnsley to find a skilled Part Time Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
  • Monitor cash flow, track expenses, and reconcile bank statements to maintain a clear financial picture.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Proactively chase outstanding arrears and payments to minimize financial risks.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts, to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with management to create and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, maintaining a high level of financial integrity.
  • Manage tax filings and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent IT and finance system skills, as well as proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
