Vertiv, a leading provider of power distribution solutions, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design/Manufacturing Engineer to join their MV Switchgear team in Campsie, Derry.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting new and existing products, ensuring they meet market demands, industry standards, and customer requirements.

The role will involve frequent interaction with the Product Development Manager, project management team, and other internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings of products.
  • Support the Sheet Metal and Copper Production teams.
  • Generate general arrangement drawings, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
  • Set up and order parts through the ERP system.
  • Attend production meetings.
  • Support the MV Switchgear Project Managers.
  • Follow the Engineering Change Process for existing products.
  • Organize drawings and documentation for efficient reference.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to requests for design information and drawings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/design technology or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using Creo, Solidworks, or equivalent 3D design package.
  • Experience with 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and GD&T.
  • Proficiency in product lifecycle management (PLM) software and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Action and detail-oriented with strong problem resolution, analysis, and decision-making skills.

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in design within the manufacturing environment or directly related experience.
  • Experience with power distribution applications and/or the data centre industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFE.
  • Knowledge of process flow, PFMEA, control plan, and Standard Operating Procedure preparation.
