As a Product Engineer with Hays Specialist Recruitment, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining product specifications that accurately reflect customer requirements and the company's manufacturing capabilities. Your responsibilities will include acting as a safety leader, adhering to all corporate and site Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Procedures, and reviewing new product requests to determine the most efficient manufacturing routes.

To succeed in this position, you will need a degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant discipline, along with experience in AutoCAD and a strong background in Microsoft computer software. You should have a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant design and development experience. Your ability to interpret and control customer-supplied specifications, develop product specifications, and communicate effectively with customers will be crucial.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and development of product specifications
  • Acting as a safety leader and adhering to all corporate and site Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Reviewing new product requests and determining the most efficient manufacturing routes
  • Translating customer-supplied information into the company's specification format using AutoCAD
  • Maintaining organized customer master files and generating internal product specifications in SAP
  • Designing, ordering, and issuing job-specific tooling, controlling design advancements, and managing change requests
  • Participating in new business development projects and contributing to continuous improvement and special projects
