About the Role:

The Senior Category Buyer will join our global purchasing and procurement team at 1st Executive Limited, where they will be responsible for purchasing direct commodities for their assigned category. This position will involve a blend of tactical and strategic procurement, requiring the ability to design, develop, and implement category strategies and sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the company's sustained growth and success by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Develop and implement category strategies to lower BOM and development costs, while upholding and enhancing current high-quality standards.
  • Minimize development lead times and identify efficiencies in the production process through proactive risk management and supply chain optimization.
  • Collaborate with the wider product, design, and Quality Control (QC) teams to champion the development of the performance of the existing supply base.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Experience within a purchasing and procurement environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Effective organizational skills and time management.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Commutable distance to Leicestershire (Hybrid basis).
  • Desirable:
    • Degree in Business or Engineering-related field.
    • Experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment.
    • Experience purchasing powertrain or chassis commodities.
    • Leadership experience.
