About the Role:

The Senior Category Buyer will join our global purchasing and procurement team at 1st Executive Limited, where they will be responsible for purchasing direct commodities for their assigned category. This position will involve a blend of tactical and strategic procurement, requiring the ability to design, develop, and implement category strategies and sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the company's sustained growth and success by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Develop and implement category strategies to lower BOM and development costs, while upholding and enhancing current high-quality standards.
  • Minimize development lead times and find efficiencies in the production process by identifying and implementing new market technologies.
  • Proactively manage risks and opportunities within the supply chain, collaborating with the wider product, design, and Quality Control (QC) teams.
  • Champion the development of the performance of the existing supply base, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a purchasing and procurement environment, preferably in a manufacturing, automotive, or engineering setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective organizational skills and time management, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to commute to the designated location (hybrid basis).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business or Engineering-related field.
  • Experience in purchasing powertrain or chassis commodities.
  • Leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in procurement or a related field.
